St. Ignatius Hall- Boston College
Set in picturesque Chestnut Hill, the Boston College campus is a collection of stone and brick architectural masterpieces. This new residence hall was built in the brick and stone style of the surrounding structures. Grande was chosen to install 11,000 square feet of ashlar stone veneer. This was accented by brick veneer, cast stone. Insulation, waterproofing and flashing completed the building envelope package.
Edward W. Brooke Courthouse- Boston, MA
Named after the first African-American in the United states to be elected a state's attorney general, this splendid new $90 million, 7-story, 425,000 sf courthouse provides accomodations for the Massachusetts Land Court, Boston Probate and Family Court, the Boston Juvenile Court, and the Boston Housing Court.
Grande completed all masonry on this prominent structure. The exterior facade is covered in a distinct pallette of Wisconsin Valders limestone which comprises 80% of the stone work, with base and banding accents of Deer Isle granite. Thirteen thousand pieces of limestone, weighing an average of 280 lbs. each, were put in place by over 40 stone setters and laborers.
