Ray and Maria Stata Center
The landmark Ray and Maria Stata Center at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology presented Grande Masonry with some of our bigger challenges.
Designed by renowned architect Frank O. Gehry, the unusual structure is a strange collection of odd angles and curves, requiring innovative construction techniques from our master masons to lay the one million bricks required for the project. As many of the walls and corners were not plumb or vertical these brick had to be laid at every possible angle from horizontal to vertical and everything in between.
